THE IT CONSUMERIZATION BREAKS COMPANIES

The mobility, according to the research commissioned by Avanade, currently or in the future will be a priority for more than 90% of companies. However, the 38% of them stated that  a coherent strategy lacks in this area.

According to the 80 % of IT managers, the phenomenon of IT consumerization has modified the user expectations in terms of  user-experience. They are more exigent. This is what emerges from the global survey of  Vanson Bourne, commissioned by Avanade. The results has been presented during the Mobile World Congress 2014.

The It consumerization has highlighted the need for a major change in the selection and the adoption of technology. However, less than 37% of those surveyed think that this trend is now a critical part in the application development process. In addition, although the majority (94% ) carry-overs that there is greater interest to speed up the  application deployment process, only 29 % of companies think that the processes in the company are enough agile to respond to this need .

"The impact of digital technologies , in particular for mobility , it is a fact of life , but the companies respond piecemeal to changing needs and to the demand for technology - said Dan O'Hara , Vice President Mobility in Avanade . The user experience is really the new frontier of competitive and companies need to consider it an integral part in the development of applications, in order to ensure an immediate and intuitive connection between users and technology. To achieve this , companies need to invest and to define a digital strategy that can develop application solutions in line with the real business results”.

 

The mobility, is currently or will be in the future a priority for the 90 % of the enterprises. However the 38% say that a coherent strategy in this scope lacks, like the way to develop, implement and manage the applications. The IT companies are struggling to adapt their strategies to application development to meet evolving needs, to differentiate themselves from competitors and to gain important market shares. The majority of respondents reported the need to deploy faster the applications (78%), to develop them on different types of devices (69%) and to  increase the focus on a user-centric design (68%).

 The cloud computing, finally, represents a very important aspect: the 90 % of the companies will implement applications in cloud within two years, in order to be lithe and to reach a better scalability to satisfy the changing needs.
